0.5 oz. Aperol¹
Insert ice cubes in a wine glass, then add gin and Aperol. Top with sparkling wine and a splash of lemonade. Squeeze orange wedge and then deposit in glass.

What if an Aperol Spritz and a Negroni had a love child?
This was the house drink when I spent some time in the Waves, NC in Sep 2020. Mr. Hospitality, a dear friend brought some Aperol which was the jumping-off point for this creation.
Feel free to vary the amounts of sparkling wine and lemonade to suit your tastes.
¹ Aperol is an Italian bitter apéritif made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, among other ingredients. It has a vibrant orange hue. Its name comes from the French slang word for aperitif, which is apero.
² The golden hour is the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky.
